I’m going to change things up a little and instead of writing down the lineups of both teams on Gamedays, I’m going to ask myself questions every game that I think should be answered. So here we go. I will also put the pitchng matchup.
TB: James Shields (7-5, 3.98 ERA) vs. LA: Bartolo Colon (6-4, 6.44 ERA)
Who’s going to have to be on their best game in order for the Rays to pull out a win?
James Shields. He has been sturggling lately, having lost five of his last six starts.
What are the Rays going to have to take advantage of?
The fact that opponents are hitting .324 off of Bartolo Colon.
Who are the Rays going to have to shut down today?
Vladamir Guerrero. The 2007 Home Run Champion is having arguably one of his best overall seasons, hitting .326 with 14 home runs and 78 RBI.
The Rays player to watch?
Jonny Gomes is hitting .455 (5-for-11) with two home runs and two RBIs in his career against Colon.
